A deer cam captured unusual lights on property owned by Rainer and Edith Shattles of the Cumbest Bluff area of Jackson County, Mississippi, but one Mutual UFONetwork (MUFON) investigator thinks he has solved the mystery, according to an April 9, 2014, statement by MUFON STAR Team Manager Fletcher Gray.
The original report was covered by WLOX Channel 13 television reporter Doug Walker.
Walker states in the video, "The timeline of the pictures is clear. At 7:24 p.m., deer appear and all is normal. At 7:29, a dim light appears. At 7:35, it gets brighter. Then at 7:53, a weird shape appears on the camera. The deer are lit up brightly, but how? The cameras are infrared and don't emit light. At 7:56, another sharper light appears, then it gets much closer, seemingly focused on the deer. It looks like headlights, but well off the ground and there is no road. It then flies away."

Although MUFON would need to analyze the original video, Gray thinks he knows what the source of the object is.
"I reviewed the photos and determined that the object in question is lens flair caused by moisture on the lens and the eyes of the deer," Gray said.
